What this section is about

Before strategy, before content, before hooks — there's a person. Part 1 is about getting sharp on who that person actually is: what they're exceptional at, what they believe, what they're scared of. Most creators skip this and then wonder why nothing sticks. Don't skip it.

How to use it

Answer as the version of you that exists right now, not the one that sounds good. Nobody is grading this. The more honest you are, the more useful it gets. 30–45 minutes, phone on silent, one sitting if you can.

What you'll have by the end

Your 5 brand layers mapped. A Face Test score that tells you where your content actually stands. Your spiky edge named. The thread that runs under everything you make. And the fear that's been keeping you invisible — out of your head and onto paper.

Exercises for Part 1 of the guide. Complete after reading Part 1.

1.1 · Map Your 5 Layers

A personal brand is five layers stacked on top of each other. When they're consistent, someone can recognise you in a 2-second scroll. Fill in each layer for yourself.

Layer What it means Yours
Who you are Your story, your values, the thing that shaped you
How you look Your face, visual habits, signature elements
How you speak Your voice, your slang, your energy on camera
What you stand for Your opinions, your takes, what you'd defend
What you keep showing up around Recurring themes, obsessions, projects, life areas

My tone of voice — tick the 3–4 that are actually you, not who you wish you were:

The layer that's strongest for me right now:

The layer I keep hiding:
